For this part of the world, January 2022 started mild, but last week, it all changed.
Toronto is in southern Ontario, and for that, our winter temperatures are usually warmer than in most parts of Canada.
I have a TV in my bedroom, and as I'm getting dressed in the morning, I watch CP24 and check the weather. A habit from my day-care days.
Last Friday, it was -21 C. It plunged down to -31 degrees with a wind chill. Even my 14 yo golden doodle, Bailey, wearing her sweater, was chilled.
Yesterday the temperature got in the low teens, which is tolerable, but with that, last night, we got a warning about the snowstorm coming our way.
This morning, we woke up with the snow reaching car doors, and it kept going. Bailey had difficulty walking through, and so did I. Our morning walk resorted to the backyard. The snow was up to her tummy and filling my boots.
I'm going out to take a few pictures. It's around 10 am here. You'll see, guys, what I'm talking about.
The city closed Gardiner Express Way and DVP, schools are closed or remote, and the storm is just starting. They are calling for 40-60 cm of snow.
I guess we'll see about tomorrow.
Stay indoors, and stay safe and healthy. ❄️😊
