Is this Blog for you?

Hello folks,
When I decided to start blogging, I knew it would be about books and what it takes to write or publish one because that's what I know and love. However, there are thousands of them out there, bloggers/writers talking about, reviewing and recommending books. The question was, how would this blog be different from every other out there?

I wrote a book and am querying agents.

"Big deal," you say, "literary thousands of others are doing the same."

And you are right.

Ask yourself, why would you trust my opinions on where to spend your time and money?

And I answer.

On writing or editing tips, querying agents or publishing paths, I promise to pass along the opinions of those with more experience in the industry.
As far as book recommendations, it's personal preference, and I feel confident in my skills. After all, if you share some of my likes and dislikes, this would be an excellent read for you.

So, let's start.
My favorite authors are Jane Austen, Anne O'Brien, Anne Bishop, Cassandra Clare, Stephenie Meyers, Janet Evanovich, Julie Moffett, George R. R. Martin, John Grisham, Jeffery Deaver, Anthony Ryan, and many more.

The categories I read are YA and Adult. My favorite genres are fantasy, {except dark/scary paranormal stuff), and historical romance, thrillers, crime, and action/adventure. I am not big on non-fiction, except the books about saints or people/events of personal interest. For instance, I read "Never Cry Wolf" by Farley Mowat, (check the review in Book Reviews and Recommendation page), because I wanted to write a book about werewolves. Extra knowledge on lupus' behavior in a free, uncontrolled environment was needed, and who better than Mowat? His experiences are priceless, his writing style entertaining. In short, I learned a lot, enjoyed the read, and would recommend it.

I am not a fan of erotica. I don't mind a hot scene, but context is necessary, and a lot of it. Plot development and a storyline are critical. Three-dimensional characters, show don't tell, and clean POV are a must. If romance, there better be chemistry. Enemies to lovers are the best, but that is just my preference. Make me feel; laugh, cry, biting my nails--and I'll turn those pages until a wee hour in the night/morning.

I am not interested in reviewing erotica, spiritual books, or anything focusing on suffering, abuse, or torture--humans or animals. You see, I read to escape reality.

Here are a few things about me, and if you are anything like me and like the things I do, this blog may be your chosen read, next to your book, of course.
I'm a wife and a mom of two girls, and since June 2021, to a wonderful son-in-law, a 14-year-old golden doodle, 🐕 Bailey, and two cats, 🐈🐈 Simba-15 and Ashes-3.

Children, animals and nature are my first love. After that follows me curled up on a couch, or somewhere surrounded by trees, reading. Walking is great if accompanied by a dog or a human friend. Without them, it's a chore unless you use that time to meditate, admiring creation and its Maker.

Since many of us who love to read and write also have pets, I thought to dedicate a lovely page to them, with all the experience I've gained over the years.
Please, check out the page called Animal Kingdom. I hope that the advice provided is helpful and the videos will make you laugh.

Coffee, tea, chocolate, wine and pizza are a must. I love breakfast for dinner but rarely have it because my husband eats eggs every morning. 😪

Wishing you all the best.

Cheers! 🍷
